Christmas comes to Hampstead
Holidays are coming, so the Coca Cola advert likes to remind us, but it can feel like the festive season is passing you by, if you’re caught up in the frenzy of looking at properties for sale in Hampstead.

West Hampstead's Annual Christmas Market – Saturday 10th December
Browse an enticing range of stalls between 10am and 4pm selling festive food, unique jewellery, cards, gifts, and local arts and crafts. There’ll also be a selection of mouthwatering cakes, chocolates, hot mulled wine and activities to keep the whole family entertained – including singing, dancing, puppet shows and face painting. Find the market at West End Green, West End Lane & Emmanuel Church.
Christmas at ZSL London Zoo, VIP Breakfast with Santa – 17th-18th and 21st-24th December
Those of you who are quick off the mark can still reserve one of the remaining spaces left for a VIP breakfast with Father Christmas at ZSL London Zoo. This unique ‘meet and greet’ experience lets visitors sneak into the zoo accompanied by Santa’s elves before the official opening time. Children (and adults) will enjoy a breakfast of pastries and bacon sandwiches with Mrs. Claus in the Terrace Restaurant before meeting Santa in his grotto. There are also Christmas arts and crafts, an exclusive reindeer talk with the zoo’s keepers, a gift for each child and the option to purchase a festive photo.
Christmas shopping at Hampstead Village
This year, Hampstead Village’s seasonal shopping experience promises to have more Christmas sparkle than ever before. Tick off your shopping list under the twinkling illuminations and stop to refuel at one of the many cafés and restaurants that are embracing the holiday vibe.
JW3 Ice Rink 3rd December – 8th January
There’s nothing better than ice skating to get into an alpine Christmas mood, so head to the winter ice rink in the piazza of the Jewish Community Centre on Finchley Road. As well as skating, the Zest café gives you the opportunity to warm up and enjoy a range of food and refreshments.
Christmas at Kenwood House 20st-21st and 27th-28th December
A wintery theme will permeate the regular creative workshops for families at Kenwood House, so get your creative-head on and make some beautiful homespun decorations. A Christmas shop will also be open during the festive period in the Orangery, with a great range of interesting and unusual gift ideas.
